Pole-sitter Tony Stewart was knocked up in a nine-car pileup in Turn 1 with only 17 laps to go. He still ended up finishing in the 32nd spot. The race restarted on Lap 317, and coming through the frontstretch tri-oval one lap later, Gordon got three-wide with Tony Stewart, who was outside of him. Gordon bumped Stewart initially, but Stewart was able to save it for a second. But then, Carl Edwards hit Stewart from behind, Stewart turned into Gordon and they both went into the outside wall, triggering a nine-car pileup.
